Hi Peter,

Firstly, I’d like to say thank you so much for all of your wonderful work on the Seneca Community Art Mural. Your contribution has been outstanding and we are truly delighted with what you have achieved.

Your support to the children, positive energy and enthusiasm working on this exciting project has been really admirable. We could not have asked for more talented artists, representing great community values, to work with. You were also very dependable and reliable and really helped me to manage this project more effectively and efficiently than I would have without you!

We were delighted to have the student’s involvement in this Art Project also as engaging with the local community is one of our main priorities. It was really great to see how much they respect you as a teacher and as a positive role model. They really were a delight to work with and it was fabulous to see how much dedication the children put into creating their art piece.

We hope that both you and the children are as proud as we are with what you have produced and we really would love for you and the children to attend the Unveiling of the Community Art Mural in July. This is, after all, your creative talent, your hard work, and therefor your wall.

We wish you all the best in your future career. Having spent a lot of time with you working on this project I have no doubt that you will be a fantastic asset to any school and continue to be a great role model for students.

Kind Regards,

Georgina

Portrait of Mahatma Gandhi

The image and life of Mahatma Gandhi  being as a piece of our iconography, forms part of the Hero Series of Portraiture that I am creating to celebrate to positivity that we are capable showing to each other.
The question we have to ask ourselves is what legacy are we leaving he world one day.

HERO SERIES : Mahatma Gandhi

Inspired by his stoic, passive resistance and the mantra," Be the change that you want to see in the world." I sought to reflect the challenging yet humble disposition in his expression. Let's be inspired ....

Copley Community mural project 2010

This recently completed 95 square metre Mural Project was created by myself and 53 young people aged between 4  - 19 years old within 15 days  in West  London's , Ealing community of Hanwell . The project was realised with the kind support of local residents and funding from amonst others : The Big Lottery Fund, Community Space Challenge, Catch 22,, EASE, Ealing Homes, Kier and the Acton Youth Offending Service by JonBurke

The responses by all sectors of the community were absolutely amazing and the work was featured on GMTV and BBC1 briefly as well local newspapers an an unveiling was done  by The Mayor of Ealing, Rajinder Mann with no fewer than 150 visitors on the day and a mini food / community festival was orchestrated.
The common thread of all the comments was that the image was fantastic but the cohesion in the community around this creation for them and through them made a indelible impression in formerly derelict, Copley Estate.

Plans are underway for similar projects in other boroughs if you have any proposals or suggestions feel free to call me on 07880632849

Red Bull

This is my latest offering as part of the  Icon Series which relates to the juxtaposition of our spiritual and materialistic nature. The cow/bull which is reverred in some cultures as well providing sustainance in others. However the irony is that the world responds almost hypocritically in its relentless surge for economic and technological growth whilst its people starve.Western culture readily discards so much of its material goods whilst other never experience the luxury of ever experiencing an iota of what we have. Is this fair ? The Red Bull or Taurine (an ingredient of the "quick fix" energy drink) Economies give us simply that a burst of energy but leaves one drained or depressed soon after. Is this the synthesis of what we are destined to be, a  microcosm of our universal status quo ?

What should I be doing differently , is the question that this work is proposing ?
